How to identify the age of your trailer.

Identifying a trailers age can be a simple process if you know how to.

When buying or selling a trailer a common question asked is, What age is the trailer?
A question that is sometimes easier to answer than you may think.
This guide will show you how to easily identify a trailers age if it was manufactured within the UK.

Identify the age of a trailer using the VIN plate.

If a trailer was manufactured within the UK the easiest way to identify the age is by using the VIN plate. This will not work for most trailers manufactured outside of the UK as the regulations on chassis plates are not the same.

This guide is confirmed to work for the following manufacturers.
Brian James Trailers.
Ifor Williams Trailers.
Blueline Trailers
PRG Trailers.
And other UK Manufacturers.

If you are not 100% certain, contact the manufacturer of the trailer
